How do I wash my vehicle?

How to Wash Your Vehicle (General Guide)

We often get asked: "What’s the best way to wash my car?" and it's a bit like asking “How long is a piece of string?” - every vehicle is different.

However, here’s a good general method that we have found that works well for most vehicles:

1. Apply Chemical to Loosen Contaminants

Start by covering the entire vehicle with Bug Wash, Tyre & Engine Cleaner, or Presoak to soften contaminants and grime.

We generally use Tyre & Engine Cleaner all over the vehicle first - all of our chemicals are generally safe for use on the entire exterior.

Apply liberally and it's best to not rush this step. The longer the chemical has to work, the better the final result.

2. Remove Contaminants with High Pressure

Use High Pressure Soap (which also has hot water) to remove bugs, dirt, grime, bird droppings, etc.

The goal here is to get the paintwork as clean as possible before using the brush (if required) or applying wax.

3. Remove Any Remaining Grime with the Foam Brush

If there’s still a film of grime on the vehicle, switch to the Foam Brush.

Take your time and scrub the entire vehicle thoroughly - rushing usually leads to missed spots, meaning you’ll need to go back and redo sections.

4. Apply Wax

Once the vehicle is clean, apply your preferred wax to help protect the paintwork and improve water beading.

5. Finish with Spot Free Rinse

Apply Spot Free Rinse from roof to bottom, pushing the existing water down and off the vehicle.

Spot Free Rinse uses filtered water, meaning that when it dries, it won’t leave mineral or water marks.
